Registration for PreCon Classes
One preconference class of your choice is included with a FULL Conference Registration.  It is not a part of the Main Conference Registration.

Precon #1 - Hazardous Materials Competency Lab
The Hazmat Officer Competency Lab provides competency-based scenario-based training in the classroom for current and future Hazardous Materials Officers. The presentation includes lecture, hands-on classroom activities and realistic scenario-based training.

Utilizing the NFPA 472 Standard for Competences of Responders to Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Incidents, Fire Studio 4 Simulator Software and the Lights On simulation system this program involves 90% hands-on scenarios utilizing realistic audio/video resources and feature state-of-the-art wireless technology to provide the participants with real-time atmospheric monitoring.

These realistic training scenarios offer valuable experience in group management and supervision of a complex hazardous materials event within the NIMS/ ICS organization. This training is perfect for all hazmat responders but it is especially well suited for groups of individuals who do not always work together.

Scenarios include transportation, fixed facility, pipeline, and/or WMD events. Specific resources such as photos, video, maps, Material Safety Data Sheets and shipping documents are provided for recommended scenarios. Scenario recommendations are encouraged and scenarios can be customized to focus on your specific target hazards.

Each participant has an opportunity to work in several positions to expand their personal knowledge and experience.
