Dr. Maik Koch leads the product management of OMICRON electronics, Austria. He graduated as a Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Stuttgart in Germany in 2008. He is specialized in ageing and moisture determination of oil paper insulated power transformers using chemical and electrical analysis methods.

He contributes to working groups of Cigre and IEEE and has published more than 50 scientific papers.

His career started with an apprenticeship as an electrician (1988.) Thereafter he studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Applied Science "Lausitz" in Germany where he graduated in 1995. For seven years he worked with various companies. Meanwhile he studied electrical engineering and received his Diploma degree at the Technical University of Cottbus in Germany in 2003. From 2003 to 2007 he worked as a scientific assistant at the University of Stuttgart in Germany before joining OMICRON in 2007.
