Location of PDC
Because of the continued growth of the PDC, this year's conference will take place at the Renaissance Chicago Hotel, One West Wacker Drive, Chicago.

The Renaissance Chicago Hotel is located at the corner of State Street and Wacker Drive overlooking the Chicago River. This award-winning 27-story hotel of 553 rooms and suites features the Great Street Restaurant and Bar, and the Lobby Court with cocktails, piano and jazz. Full guest services and amenities are provided along with complimentary indoor swimming pool and 24-hour access to the health club. Both wired and wireless high-speed Internet access are available at $14.95 per day.

Guest Room Reservations
AIA Chicago has reserved a limited number of sleeping rooms.  Please call the Renaissance Chicago Hotel at 312-372-7200 or Marriott Reservations at 800-468-3571 to make your room reservation at the special AIA Chicago rate of $259 per night (plus 15.4% occupancy tax).

The deadline for room reservations is Wednesday, August 20, 2008. After that date, guest room reservations will be accepted on a space and rate-available basis. Check in time at the hotel is at 3:00 p.m. and check out time is at 12:00 noon. All room reservations must be guaranteed to a major credit card. Room reservations can be canceled up until 4:00 p.m. the day of arrival with no penalty.  The hotel has a smoke-free policy.

Registration
On-site registration for the Professional Development Conference will take place on the 2nd floor of the Renaissance Chicago Hotel. On-site registrations will incur an additional $25.00 fee. This does not apply to students.

Registration opens at 8:00 a.m. on both Thursday, September 11 and Friday, September 12.

Parking
Valet parking at the Renaissance Chicago Hotel is available for $45 per day.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2008 in order to receive a full refund.  No refunds will be made for cancellations received after that date or for no-shows.

CES Credit
Participants who attend the Thursday sessions will earn up to 7 CES Learning Units (LU) which qualify for Health, Safety and Welfare (HSW) hours. Friday participants will earn 5.5 CES Learning Units, all HSW hours.

Accessibility and Special Meals
Please indicate on the conference registration if you require a special meal (diabetic, vegetarian, kosher, etc.) or if there is something the AIA Chicago staff can do to make the conference more accessible to you.  A staff person will call you for details.

Confirmation
An e-mail confirmation will be sent to you after your registration is received.

Name Badges
All conference attendees must be registered and wear a name badge in order to be admitted to all meal and educational functions.  Registration badges will be provided on site.

Dress
Business casual attire is appropriate throughout the day.
