The Advanced & Complex SQL class will open up with very detailed performance information. This allows the concepts to be referred to throughout course. Details on each SQL feature will be presented with simple and real world examples. One difference in this training versus other vendors, is time will not be spent on SQL features that are not practical. For example, instead of covering functions like ATANH, emphasis will be on the six powerful uses of table expressions, when to use subqueries instead of joins, if ever, and when CASE expressions can consolidate several programs into one query. DB2 Version 8 SQL features, all 28, are covered throughout the class and also repeated in a separate chapter. DB2 9 SQL features will be covered in a separate chapter. Special emphasis will be on creating programs for high transaction rate systems. DB2 X SQL enhancements will also be introduced.
