2012 Meeting Highlights
|
The 2012 PCI Annual Meeting, featured over 970 CEOs and senior executives of property casualty insurance companies, reinsurers, brokers, intermediaries and underwriters who gathered in Dana Point, Calif., for the largest gathering of property casualty insurance professionals in North America.
This premier event, held October 28-31 at the St. Regis hotel, featured several leading industry speakers and informative panels which examined risk and resilience in the property casualty insurance industry. For the second year in a row the meeting also featured a sold out exhibit area.
Opening Remarks
The meeting officially began with opening remarks from David A. Sampson, PCI president and CEO, who discussed the intersection of politics and the economy and made the case for why free and open markets offer the greatest opportunity for people everywhere.
New Officers Elected
During the Annual Meeting, PCI elected new officers to its Board of Governors. Jonathan E. Michael, chairman and CEO of RLI, was elected as PCI’s chair; Robert P. Restrepo, president, chairman and CEO, of State Auto Insurance Companies, was elected first vice chair and Terrence W. Cavanaugh, president and CEO of Erie Insurance Group, was elected second vice chair.

Membership Recognition Ceremony
PCI also honored its 75-year and 50-year and 25-year members and welcomed new members in a special membership recognition ceremony at the 2012 Annual Meeting. PCI values its very special new and long-time members. They contribute greatly to the organization and help PCI maintain its influence and build its advocacy strength.
