William Applegate is the vice president of Product Management at Fidelity. Since joining Fidelity in 2005 as vice president, emerging products, he has served as product manager for both Health & Welfare Administration and the Fidelity HSASM (Health Savings Account). He also served as the team leader for the Fidelity HSASM product launch. Prior to joining Fidelity, Applegate developed Mellon Financial Corporation’s HSA product offering following Mellon’s acquisition of Kwasha Lipton.
Dennis (Den) F. Bishop II is president of the Southern Division of Holmes Murphy & Associates, Inc. He is also a shareholder, member of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and is the National Practice Leader for Employee Benefits. He is responsible for the strategic direction and operations of the Dallas, Oklahoma City, Kansas City, Denver, Scottsdale and St. Louis offices. His primary expertise is healthcare strategy and financing.
Jeremy Borys, Ph.D., is vice president, talent management consultant with Right Management. Dr. Borys specializes in areas of individual and team assessment, leadership development, organizational culture, succession management, and employee engagement. His area of expertise centers on configuring comprehensive, simulation-based assessment processes for selection, promotion, and high potential programs. Jeremy is adept at creating competency models, designing selection systems, developing strategic succession programs, and providing feedback that drives decision making.
Robert A. DiMuccio is chairman, president and chief executive officer of Amica Mutual Insurance Company. DiMuccio joined Amica in 1991 as a vice president in the Accounting Department. In 1994, he was promoted to senior vice president, and in 1996 he was given the additional title of treasurer. In 2001, DiMuccio attained another title, chief financial officer. During these years he remained a member of Amica’s Accounting Department. He was named executive vice president in 2003 and president and CEO in 2005.
David Flaherty is a director and senior consultant in Towers Watson’s Executive Compensation Practice. Through his 12 years with the company, he has deep experience with executive compensation, ranging from strategic design projects to providing technical advice on transactional matters such as change-in-control severance, as well as broader experience helping companies with employee rewards, sales compensation and international compensation issues.
Patrick J. Hatfield is a partner in the Corporate Department of the Austin office of Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell, LLP and serves as co-chair of the firm’s Technology Transactions Group. His practice is highly focused on issues surrounding electronic signatures, outsourcing, and software licensing and development. Hatfield regularly addresses some of the most highly regarded industry associations in the country on electronic signatures and a number of e-Matters related topics. He has assisted numerous clients in designing and implementing electronic signature processes.
Jean Lawyer has served as director of Corporate Relations and Inclusion for COUNTRY Financial since June 2010. Lawyer began her career with COUNTRY in 1976 in Agency Training. She has held a variety of positions in communications, as well as in Corporate Communications, Management Information Systems and Corporate Relations. Lawyer oversees public affairs, media relations, diversity and organizational development efforts. She is a 2008 recipient of the YWCA Women of Distinction Award.
Benjamin J. McKay is the senior vice president – federal government relations for the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI). He leads PCI’s federal government relations team and has primary responsibility for insurance regulatory reform, natural catastrophe insurance and legal reform. He joined PCI after nearly a decade as chief of staff to elected officials in both Florida and Washington, D.C.
Margaret Resce Milkint is managing partner of The Jacobson Group and handles executive management and actuarial searches on a national and international basis in the areas of life and health, property and casualty, reinsurance, and consulting for the organization's retained search division, Jacobson Executive Search. She also plays a significant role in the continued development of the entire organization as a member of The Jacobson Group’s Executive Management Team.
Jeffrey J. Rieder is president of Ward Group. He has significant experience in the insurance industry with expertise in the property-casualty and life, health and annuity segments. Throughout Rieder’s 17-year career, he has been involved with over 350 projects for numerous regional, national and international insurance companies, covering a diverse range of technology, performance, and operational evaluations. He joined Ward Group in 1998.
Kenneth J. Ross is the president and CEO of Pinnocol Assurance. He joined Pinnacol Assurance, Colorado’s largest and oldest provider of workers compensation insurance, in September 2005 as president and CEO. The company serves approximately 50,000 Colorado businesses. In May 2010, Pinnacol returned nearly $47.5 million to its policyholders in the form of a general dividend. The company has returned more than $300 million in general dividends to Colorado’s business community over the past six years.
Mark A. Royal is a senior principal within Hay Group Insight, Hay Group’s employee research division. He works closely with clients in all aspects of employee engagement initiatives, from initial planning and design through the effective use and communication of results. He also plays a leading role in directing Hay Group’s annual partnership with Fortune magazine to identify the World’s Most Admired Companies and uncover the business practices that make these companies both highly regarded and highly successful.
Richard F. Russell is president and chief executive officer for Amerisure Companies. His insurance career includes technical and managerial positions with the American Mutual Fire Insurance Company (beginning in 1973). With the 1991 conversion from a mutual company to a stock company, then known as Unisun Insurance Company, Russell continued to serve as its president and chief executive officer until August 1997. He was elected executive vice president - Amerisure Companies (May 1995); president, COO & director (November 1995); and CEO (May 1996).
David A. Sampson is the president and chief executive officer for the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI). Before joining PCI, Sampson worked with President George W. Bush and served the Bush administration as deputy secretary of the U.S. Commerce Department. He was also a member of President Bush’s Management Council.
Marguerite Murer Tortorello is the senior vice president, public affairs, for PCI where she advances advocacy initiatives through traditional and social media efforts, grassroots and strategic positioning. While at PCI, she has led multi-faceted campaigns for issues including the Dodd-Frank Act, underwriting freedoms, coastal initiatives and accident tax. Under her leadership, PCI was named a 2010 PR News “Top Place to Work in Public Relations” and Tortorello was named PR News 2010 “Public Affairs Professional of the Year.”
James D. Wallace is chairman, president and CEO of GuideOne Insurance. Before joining GuideOne in 2001, Wallace was president and CEO of National Travelers Life. Prior to serving at National Travelers, he was a partner and director of insurance services for the eastern half of the United States for Ernst & Young.
Pearce Weaver is a senior vice president and leads the National Practice for Fidelity Consulting Services within the Personal, Workplace, and Institutional Services (PWIS) group, a division of Fidelity Investments. Weaver acquired his current position in July 2010 and is responsible for managing the Consulting Services professional practice disciplines including retirement, communication and health and welfare.
Aaron Zandy is a board certified specialist in Labor and Employment law, representing private and public sector employers in all areas of traditional labor and employment law. His practice encompasses all areas relating to the counseling and representation of management clients in federal and state courts, as well as before federal, state and local administrative agencies. As a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources, he provides proactive counseling and legal advice to employers and management regarding human resource issues and related statutory and regulatory compliance.

Steve Gerome is currently the human resource site manager for The Rockingham Group. He served as president of the Shenandoah Valley Society for Human Resource Management in 2009 and is a member of the PCI HR Committee. Gerome completed his B.A. in International Relations and Modern Foreign Languages and Master’s in Human Resource Development at James Madison University and a Ph.D. in Organizational Management from Capella University and is currently an adjunct instructor at James Madison University.
Scott M. Neilan, SPHR, is the director of human resources for Armed Forces Insurance (AFI), a direct writer of personal lines insurance to members of the military community. He joined AFI in 1982, and is responsible for the design and implementation of all human resources and training programs for AFI's 200 employees. He has significant experience in utilizing innovative benefit plan design to align employee benefit programs with corporate culture and strategic vision.
Gail W. Reilly is senior vice president, human resources/administration for the Lancer Insurance Group. She joined the Lancer Insurance Group, one of the nation’s top specialty insurers of commercial passenger transportation companies, in 1982. Lancer Insurance Company is also the leading producer of traditional liability and physical damage coverage to the U.S. business industry. Prior to joining Lancer, Reilly worked at various insurance and reinsurance brokers.
