Employee Engagement in Challenging Times
Many organizations today are focused on enhancing levels of employee engagement. In the rapidly changing environments most companies now face, organizations must count on employees to act on their own in ways consistent with organizational cultures, objectives and values. Faced with increased competitive pressures, many organizations are needing to do more with less. Belt-tightening often results in organizational retrenching, reduced staffing levels, increased workloads, and constrained compensation budgets. But there is opportunity amid economic uncertainty. Careful attention to positioning individuals and teams to succeed will not only allow organizations to weather the storm, but also to emerge in a stronger competitive position. This session will explore strategies for keeping employees onboard and motivated in a tumultuous economic environment.

- Set compensation levels that support the company's attraction, retention and engagement objectives
- Design compensation programs that are consistent with industry practices
This session will discuss significant trends within the P&C industry, present recent benchmark data for the industry (performance, HR effectiveness, compensation design) and address how companies use benchmark data to better inform their HR processes.
Designing an Effective Electronic HR System
More than 10 years after the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act became the law, electronic signatures, delivery, and fulfillment methods have become a standard way to do business. In the world of Human Resources, employee electronic signatures and records have become more prevalent in the work place. As this transition occurs, employers are more likely to face challenges to these signatures and records by their employees. This session will describe how a thoughtful e-process can actually reduce a company’s risk, relative to traditional paper processes. Among the topics covered will be a six Point Risk Assessment Framework and what the courts saying about the enforceability of various HR related records signed with electronic signatures or sent solely via e-delivery.
