Hair transplant surgery has been one of Dr. Cole’s passions since 1990. He has been involved in the field for over 18 years with his practice dedicated strictly to hair transplant surgery for 18 years. Is there another field of medicine?He has been with the ISHRS since 1993 and attended the inaugural meeting in Dallas, Texas. He has chaired both the beginner’s course (twice) and the annual society meeting. He was one of the first 30 physicians certified by the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery. He also served on the board of directors and the examination committee of the ABHRS. He began innovating instruments and methods in FUE in 2002. FUE became 90% of his practice by 2003 primarily out of patient demand. He has developed many instruments and methods for the extraction of individual follicular units including 4 automated devices, which all function differently and utilize a variety of energy sources. He has trained many physicians whose practice is dedicated predominantly to FUE. Hobbies include golf, tennis, salt-water fishing, and survival camping.
Sungjoo Tommy Hwang, MD, PhD

Dr. Hwang graduated from Kyungpook National Medical School in 1994. After his residency in dermatology, he went on fellowship at the Hair Transplant Center in the Dep. of Dermatology at KUNH in 2000. He lectured internationally and published many articles and is a co-author of Drs. Unger & Shapiro’s textbook “Hair Transplantation, 4th Edition.” His research on “Recipient Site Influence“ or “Recipient Dominance” earned him the Platinum Follicle Award at ISHRS 2006 Annual Scientific Meeting in San Diego. Dr. Hwang is Diplomate American Board of HRS.
Kenichiro Imagawa, MD

Dr. Imagawa graduated from Keio University School of Medicine in 1974. He practiced OBGYN for 6 years and then decided to enter plastic surgery residency training for a change. He started his practice at Yokohama in 1985 dedicated to hair restoration surgery and some cosmetic surgery. He was fascinated in hair restoration when he observed Dr. Seery‘s procedures in Sacramento in 1991 and Dr. T. Mayer’s in LA in 1993. He also learned from many pioneers in hair transplantation. He is a co author of “Hair Transplantation in Asian Patients” in Drs. Unger & Shapiro’s textbook “Hair Transplantation, 4th Edition” and editor of “Hair Restoration Surgery in Asians.”
Mario Marzola, MBBS
Dr. Marzola of Adelaide, Australia has seen the development of hair restoration from punch grafts to flaps and alopecia reductions and now FUT, FUE and body hair transplants. Currently trying to identify causes of disappointing growth and minimising donor scarring with trichophytic or any other trick we can find. A founding member of ISHRS, attended every meeting and served on Board of Governors. President in 2003-2004. Recipient of the Golden Follicle award in 2006.
Dow B. Stough, MD
Dr. Dow Stough is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. After his dermatology residency, he completed a cosmetic surgery fellowship sponsored by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He is co-founder of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, and the author of two textbooks on hair transplantation. He maintains a yearlong teaching fellowship under the auspices of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery. Dr. Stough has authored more than one hundred medical papers and has presented more than two hundred scientific presentations. With his vast experience in the field of hair restoration, Dr. Stough has trained countless physicians from all over the world.
Jerry Wong, MD
Medical background general practice. Attended Marzola's school of hair surgery in 1992. Had a combined medical and hair surgery practice until 1997 at which time converted to full time hair practice. Currently working with Victor Hasson in Vancouver, Canada. Developed and presented the lateral slit technique in 1996. Assisted in the development of the custom cut blades. Hobbies include fishing, motorbikes and homebuilt aircrafts.
Damkerng Pathomvanich, MD, FACS Dr. Pathomvanich is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He completed a cosmetic surgery fellowship sponsored by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and trained in hair restoration surgery at Stough Medical Associates, Hot Spring, Arkansas. He is an active member of ISHRS and served on its Board of Governors. Dr. Pathomvanich is the director of the fellowship training program in hair restoration surgery at DHT clinic for the past five years and the editor of a new text book entitled “Hair Restoration Surgery in Asians” by Springer. His current private practice is dedicated to hair restoration surgery in Bangkok, Thailand.
