Small Pain Fiber NCS Certification
The AASEM is the only organization through which physicians and technicians can become certified in small pain fiber electrodiagnosis.

To become certified, you must be actively using the technology in your practice. Fill out the certification application and send it with your $350 fee (ask your device distributor if you qualify for free certification). After receiving your application and fee, an email will be sent with the Pledge and Quiz. Answer the quiz questions while viewing an online video. Then fax the quiz and pledge along with a copy of your state license and a copy of your picture ID to (949) 276-5244. Next perform an examination on two staff members (2 cervical and 2 lumbar studies). Then call (949) 201-9787 and answer several questions about the test. If you can answer these questions, you will then be asked to make a video of yourself performing the test on at least two nerve sites. Send that video to: Attn: Valee - 115 Shorebreaker Drive - Laguna Niguel, CA 92677. Valee Drewes will call and fax you the final examination. It is open book and takes you through the analysis. This certification is good for one year. During that year you can attend, at no charge, the next Annual AASEM Conference and workshops where you can receive 5 years certification. You are only required to pay your 5 year AASEM dues ($100 per year = $500). Your technicians can also be certified at the Annual AASEM conference. Upcoming conference dates will be posted on this website a few months prior to the scheduled conference.

Please complete the certification application.
